Should I pick 365 nm or 405 nm?
Match your adhesive: 365 nm suits deep or through-cure and older chemistries, while 405 nm suits most modern UV adhesives. Your adhesive datasheet lists the wavelength it needs.

Can I get 385 or 395 nm?
Uvitron's brochure lists the SkyWand in 365, 385, 395, and 405 nm. We stock 365 and 405 nm, ask on a quote if your chemistry needs 385 or 395 nm.
How many batteries come with it?
Two rechargeable 3.7 V 3000 mAh Li-ion packs, so one can charge while the other works.
What charger ships in the kit?
A dedicated Li-ion charger with a status light, red while charging, green at full charge. Use it only for the SkyWand's packs.
Does it emit much infrared?
No, the focused spectral output minimizes IR, which reduces heating of your assemblies.
What light source is inside?
Solid-state UV LEDs. They switch instantly, run cool, and hold a consistent output at the rated wavelength.
Where is the on/off switch?
There's a single on/off switch button at the head end of the lamp body, press it to start or stop the UV.
Is the dose repeatable cure to cure?
Yes, output is constant regardless of battery level, so equal exposure times give equal doses. Verify periodically with a UV-A radiometer as the manual recommends.
Can it run corded from a wall outlet?
The SkyWand is battery powered, and the documentation doesn't describe any corded operation, only the charger connects to mains. Swap in the second pack to keep working while the first charges.
How long will my adhesive take to cure?
That depends on your adhesive's required dose, the documents don't publish cure times. Start from the datasheet dose and the SkyWand's 0.9 W/cm² intensity, then confirm with your own process checks.

How does spot size relate to distance?

What intensity reaches my part?
0.9 W/cm² at the 28 mm focus distance over the 15 mm spot, per the brochure. Keep the lens clean and check periodically with a UV-A radiometer to keep it there.
What total runtime does the kit give?
Each pack runs approximately 2 hours, and a full recharge takes about 4 hours. Rotating the two included packs through the charger keeps the lamp available across the day for typical spot-cure duty.
Is 0.9 W/cm² enough for my adhesive?
Check your adhesive datasheet: if its required irradiance is at or below 0.9 W/cm², the SkyWand can deliver the dose with the right exposure time. Send us the datasheet on a quote and we'll confirm the fit.
Does it have adjustable power levels?
No adjustable levels are described, the lamp has a single on/off switch and a constant output. You control dose through exposure time and working distance.
Is there a built-in timer or shutter?
No, the documentation describes a single on/off switch only. Time your exposures manually or per your process spec.
What's the weight without the battery?
Uvitron publishes 130 g with the battery installed; a without-battery figure isn't listed. Either way, it's a very light tool.
What power source does the charger need?
The manual simply says to attach the charger plug to the main power source; detailed input ratings aren't published in our documents. Ask tech support if your facility has specific power requirements.
What does mechanical cooling mean here?
Uvitron's brochure lists the SkyWand's heat dissipation as mechanical cooling. Combined with the LED source's minimal IR, assemblies see little heating during cures, and no cooling downtime is described.
Do the packs degrade with age?
Like all Li-ion cells they wear with use, Uvitron rates them for 300-500 charge cycles or more with proper care (no overcharging, no heavy discharging). Replacements are available through us.
