Getting Started With Your UV Curing System
Just received a SunSpot 2, SkyBeam, or SkyWand? This is the first-cure checklist, from unpacking to a validated, repeatable dose, in six steps.
- 1Unpack and check. Confirm the system and everything on the packing list arrived, and read the safety section of the manual before powering on.
- 2Set up a safe station. Put on UV/IR safety eyewear, shield the beam path, and keep the shutter or trigger gating the beam. See the safe-station guide.
- 3Match your adhesive. Confirm your adhesive cures at your source’s wavelength. Not sure? Run the wavelength selector or check the adhesive database.
- 4Measure your intensity. With a radiometer, read the intensity at your working distance. This is the baseline every future check compares against.
- 5Dial in the dose. From the adhesive’s target dose and your measured intensity, set the exposure time with the dose calculator. Verify a good cure on scrap.
- 6Register and stock spares. Register Your System for warranty and support, and keep a spare lamp or guide on the shelf so a dimming source never stops the line.
